Blog #4

Sir Henry Morgan was a famous pirate and privateer but was first a buccaneer. He was one of the best if not the best at what he did at the time. Many people discuss Henry Morgan but few know the real truths from the myths. One of the biggest things that stood out to me was how he grew up. Which is very important, to know the facts about how someone grew up. In some readings Morgan is described as him being a farmer growing up. Stating how he disliked doing such a thing and couldn't wait for his opportunity to make it out. While in other readings he was the off springs                    militia men.Image result for sir henry morgan showing how stories are mixed up and some are not true while others are completely true when it comes to Sir Henry Morgan.

Henry Morgan

Henry Morgan wanted more to life and began early. By the 17th Century he was a known buccaneer. He was famous for his acts of attacking Panama. He was a ruthless buccaneer and invaded and left with riches from Panama. His attack was successful he was a great leader and had money during the time. When going to war you will not be able to compete unless you have money. Morgan was able to provide his troops with a good amount of protection, and firepower. Throughout the fight Morgan lost a couple men but it is no where close to the amount of men that panama had suffered through the fight. They lost hundreds of more men than that of Morgan's men. Morgan was up there with Sir Francis Drake with being one of the best privateers of all time and easily paved the way for later great pirates and buccaneers

UTBF VS Bucaneers & Pirates

Under the black flag and Buccaneers and Pirates are similar in many ways yet there a just a few things that make them different. The two books are written differently, the authors gave the books two different readings. In under the black flag the author goes into more death and talks more about the facts that happened in the book. The book was easier to understand to me because the author made it that way. He went into more death helping me understand and comprehend better

In the Buccaneers and Pirates the author gave more of a story telling approach. They both are good books depending on which type of reader you are will decide on which book you prefer. This one tells more story keeping the reader thinking and more engaged while the other was more facts helping you to better understand and know the material.

Pirates and Buccaneers (2)

Since the very beginning of history there have been pirates roaming the earth. Although way before pirates and buccaneers there was an even earlier group. This group would run around and do awful things while the pirates roamed around really having nobody to tell them anything. The men who would do the dirty works were known as privateers. A very well known privateer was Sir Francis Drake. He was an intelligent and sneaky individual he also worked under the Queen of England at the time. He partook in several remember able acts one being when he captured Nombre De Dios.

Privateers such as Sir Francis Drake made it easy for the pirates and the buccaneers in fact privateers paved the way for them. He was very deceiving and in fact took over a ship that was known strictly for its defense which is insane to do. He was considered the greatest British seaman of the Elizabeth age. When people looked at him they viewed him at the "great seaman".
Sir Henry Morgan

Morgan grew up different from the others he didn't have a really rough up bringing. He followed in his families foot steps and became a soldier. When Morgan was alive he accomplished many things such as capturing the island of Jamaica, Portobello, and others. Unlike Drake who was much nicer than Henry Morgan. All Morgan wanted to do was take and destroy from everything that he would come across. Columbus being much different than the both of them only dealing in voyages. His only missions really in life was to discover the new world.
