My research topic had to do with female pirates. I talked about there many adventures and what they had to go through as a pirate. I mentioned plenty great female pirates and went into great depth in speaking on their lifestyle and culture. Female pirates weren't respected or wanted on ships. They were even though of at "bad luck". The majority of them if caught on the ship were punished. Punishment for them resulted in death of a female pirate.

Female pirates weren't much different than the male pirate. In some cases some such as Mary Read happened be better than a few of the male pirates. Female pirates were overlooked because they did not pertain the skills that the male pirates had. Unlike the male pirates female pirates had to learn certain skills on their own, such as navigation. Male pirates grew up learning and acquiring these skills their entire life.

Throughout my research project I will explain everything female pirates went through in detail. I will explain why they disguised themselves with scarfs and acted as men. As well as their love life cause of course they were in fact still females.

Black Beard

Black Beard is one of the most feared pirates of all time also one of the most well known pirates. Much of his early life is undiscovered and not all the way known. He began a pirate in Queen Anne's War and eventually settled near the Bahamas. Later in life he leveled up and was able to lead his on army. He commanded his crew to conquer ships and fleets around the Caribbean. He is know for his fierceness and even appeared fearsome. He would wear a thick beard and attained respect for his fearsome reputation. He is the most notorious pirate to date and also the most known pirate.

Pirate Punishments

Pirates were very physical and encountered in numerous different punishments. Many people think that mythical punishments such as "walking the plank" are true. However, they are quite wrong pirates engaged in rather a more terrifying punishments. Pirates depending on what they did and the ships ruled had several different punishments that they could choose from. Often choosing marooning, keelhauling, dunking, hanging, and more. The ultimate for of punishment of a pirate whom was convicted was to be hung. The act of using confinement as a punishment wasn't brought to attention until after the American Revolution.

The research topic that I chose was pirates. More specifically I will be reading and learning and studying more about female pirates. Female pirates was an interesting topic throughout the time because unlike regular pirates they were females and were looked  at different. Female pirates weren't allowed on the ship and often covered and disguised their looks from the other pirates. The topic was interesting to me because I always felt like I wasn't like other people and that I was different myself. Growing up I was a left handed boy and different than my peers. When playing sports I always had to things the opposite way than the average person would have to do it. Female pirates were common and known, they weren't average pirates either. In fact a few of the female pirates happened to be even better than a few of the male pirates List of great female pirates

As boarding the ship from getting out of the time machine. I immediately began wondering how will I take showers and use the restroom. I tried to become as adjusted to my new environment as possible from the wild smells of nature to where we would rest our heads when we go to sleep.

After moving everything on the ship they began teaching me and telling me what I would be doing while on the ship. There was several pirates on the ship but there was one that stood out more than anyone else to me. He said his name was Micheal, and he was a veteran on the ship. He began helping and showing me around. The whole time I was trying my best to try to fit in and act as if i was like the other pirates. When in reality I'm just a young man from Atlanta whose never even seen a ship previously.

As we continued to talk and he talked to me about what not to do. He said that as pirates they have very harsh and severe punishments for disobedience and wrong doings. We began to get even closer and he caught me of gourd telling me that he had to talk to me about something private and don't let anyone know. He began to take of his bandannas, as I looked closer it resembled to me what looked like a female. He began speaking, I know my kind is not really welcome here but my real name is Mary Read and I am actually one of the greatest pirates ever. I am actually really a girl society treats me different. Just because I am a pirate they treat me as if I am a man and am not feminine. Which is why I try my best to hide and disguise my true identity.
